Businesses around the world have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and this crisis has also impacted the nonprofit organizations integral to the health and safety of our communities. Many of these charities complement the work of public health and government agencies in addressing urgent needs, which have increased due to the coronavirus.

The following organizations have long held a special place in our hearts, and we wanted to step up when they need us most. To that end, Kian Capital is making contributions to each charity to further their relief efforts during this uncertain time. The missions of these organizations are more relevant now than ever given the economic strain COVID-19 is placing on the communities where we live and work.

“We are passionate about helping companies create sustainable, long-term success and have the drive to go the distance despite the inevitable challenges that come along the way,” said Kevin McCarthy, Co-Founder & Partner at Kian. “That statement also holds true for the charities we support and love.”

We hope you will take a moment to learn more about their admirable efforts and consider supporting these worthy organizations as you are able.

  • Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB): Works to end hunger with the food, people and big ideas needed to ensure our neighbors have the nourishment to lead healthy and productive lives. Through more than 600 nonprofit partners, ACFB helps more than 755,000 people get healthy food every year.

  • Feed the Front Line Charlotte (FTFL): Channels community gratitude into action, by supporting local businesses, and providing meals and encouragement to Charlotte’s medical professionals and hospital staff.  FTFL’s goal is to support both front line healthcare workers and local Charlotte restaurants during the COVID-19 global pandemic using a simple model.  The FTFL raises funds and allocates these funds to our restaurant partners, bringing them a direct and immediate revenue stream.  Within hours, these restaurants then prepare meals in bulk and deliver them to front line healthcare workers, free of charge.

  • Loaves and Fishes (LF):  Provides a week's supply of nutritionally balanced groceries to individuals and families experiencing a financial crisis through a network of 23 food pantries located throughout Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, NC. In 2019, LF provided groceries to 80,232 people. 36% were children.

  • The Giving Kitchen (GK): Provides emergency assistance to food service workers through financial support and a network of community resources.  If they miss work because they are sick, hurt, lost a family member, or were affected by a housing disaster, GK can help pay their bills until they get back on their feet and can also offer referrals to low-cost services that they otherwise couldn’t afford.

We are passionate about helping companies create sustainable, long-term success and have the drive to go the distance despite the inevitable challenges that come along the way. That statement also holds true for the charities we support and love.
